Spring Creek Bridge improvement was a strategic partnership with TxDOT. Parker County partnered with TxDOT to improve this bridge using County funds while TxDOT would invest and reconstruct another nearby bridge. It was a two for one deal for the County. The project elevated the bridge and improved the pilings. The previous bridge had severe erosion.
White Settlement Road curve realignment project focused on improving safety and mobility. The County identified two curves on White Settlement Road approximately one mile east of FM 3325 that were nearly 90-degree turns. They were unsafe, and vehicles would routinely be found in the ditches and neighboring property. The severity of the curves and concerns from local constituents made this project a priority for Commissioner Steve Dugan. He selected this project to be included in the 2016 Parker County Transportation Bond. Voters approved the plan allocating $781,800. This project was a team effort between Parker County, Freese and Nichols, and Jay Mills Construction. The County hired Freese and Nichols to design the project and Jay Mills Construction to build the roadway realignment. The existing narrow road and right-of-way width made traffic control challenging during construction. The team worked closely to develop a solution that avoided making large detours or expensive design alternatives. County selected the use of temporary traffic control signaling to keep the public moving safely through the intersection. The project was completed $175,000 under budget and increased safe driving speed from 10 mph to 35 mph.
FM 1189 intersection with Grindstone Road in Brock was identified early as a key project for the Bond Program. The intersection is in the heart of the town and majority of traffic is funneled to this one central location. County, TxDOT, and Brock ISD worked together to design, permit, and construct the traffic signal. County designed the signal, constructed roadway improvements on Grindstone Road, and hired the contractor to install the signal. TxDOT supplied the materials and permitted the project. Brock ISD provided ROW and assisted in coordinating with the public. It was a team effort!
East Bankhead Project was open to traffic on August 27th. All work was completed during the summer to accommodate school schedules. The partnership between Parker County, City of Aledo, and Aledo ISD made this project possible. This event at the Aledo Community Center, A Milestone to Our Future, celebrated the completion of the FM 1187 expansion and Aledo Trail projects.
More than 200 people attended this public meeting to discuss the proposed alignment of the East Loop. The County provided information through detailed exhibits and a Q&A session, and all feedback was considered during finalization of the alignment.
This ceremony celebrated the completion of the entire Ric Williamson Memorial Highway and its connection to Interstate 20.

This hearing about the interchange at Ric Williamson Memorial Highway and Interstate 20 was a key element of the federal review process. The public comments from the hearing were the final component of the environmental document required before construction could begin.
The groundbreaking for the Aledo Trail (Couplet) and FM 1187 was held on September 25, 2012 at 10am outside of Aledo City Hall. Parker County Judge, Mark Riley kicked off the program, followed by an invocation by Ron Buch, Minister of Aledo Church of Christ, the pledge of allegiance led by Judy Flanagan, Office of the Honorable Phil King, Texas House of Representatives and “America the Beautiful” led by Sophie Clark, Commissioners Court Coordinator and Office Manager for Parker County Judge. Speeches were given by Parker County Judge, Mark Riley, Kit Marshall, Mayor of the City of Aledo, Doyle Moss, Moss Insurance Group, East Parker County Chamber of Commerce, Brian Barth, Texas Department of Transportation, and Dan Kessler, North Central Texas Council of Governments.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and Parker County held a Public Meeting to discuss the proposed IH 20 - Ric Williamson Memorial Highway Interchange in the City of Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. The purpose of the meeting was to offer an opportunity to discuss and make comments on the proposed new interchange in the vicinity of the existing Old Brock Road bridge over IH 20. There was no formal presentation. The Public Meeting was an open house format held on Thursday, April 26, 2012; 5:30 p.m. -- 7:30 p.m.; at the Weatherford 9th Grade Campus Auditorium.
The Parker County Commissioners Court, Weatherford City Council and Hudson Oaks City Council discussed transportation needs and goals at this joint meeting. The Commissioners Court voted to add studies of the East Loop into the 2008 Transportation Bond Program.
Mary Ann Williamson cut the ribbon to open the highway named after her late husband, who was chairman of the Texas Transportation Commission and a member of the Texas House of Representatives for 14 years.
